You may be wondering about your sex drive!

There is no stereotype when it comes to sex drive, and everyone has different ideas about his or her sex drive. Research certainly backs up the opinion that men think about sex more often than women do, and will go out of their way to get sex, more often than women do.

Not everyone will agree with this idea, and many folk have questions about the nitty-gritty of sex drive in general. This led to surveys being conducted to give people some of the answers they may looking for.

Survey questions and answers

Here is a report of some of the survey questions which were asked, and the answers according to research results:

  • What percentage of single men and women aged between 18 and 25 have sex 4 or more times per week?Answer: Men 2%, women 5%. However, it was noted that 24% of married women and men in the same age group, admitted to having sex up to 4 times per week.
  • What percentage of married people aged between 30 and 60 have sex 3 to 4 times per month?
Answer: Around 48%. This is actually a higher rate than single folk, or people with partners, but who are not married.
  • Do birth control meds lower a women’s sex drive?
Answer: According to study results, there is no evidence that contraceptives lower a woman’s libido. Some women reported that the pill seemed to have actually increased their sex drive.
  • How long does intercourse usually last?
Answer: A study which included couples with no dysfunctional sexual problems, from 5 different countries, revealed that the average time is 6 minutes. This does not include foreplay, only the actual act. Considering the amount of time people think about sex, talk about sex, and worry about sex – the time is not very impressive!
  • Does drug abuse cause sexual dysfunction in men after they stop using?
Answer: Research indicated that sexual problems may occur for up to 12 months after a man who has abused drugs, stops using. The areas which may be affected include sexual pleasure and orgasm. There are, however, some illegal drugs which can drastically decrease desire and arousal for a long while after they are no longer used.
  • What is an easy way to boost a man’s sex drive?
Answer: While conducting studies, researchers stumbled on the fact that sexual interest in men seemed to alter with the seasons, more so in the spring and summer times. This gave them the clue that it might have something to do with light. A study confirmed this idea by showing that men who sat in bright lights, and even the sun, for 30 minutes per day, said they definitely had more interest in sexual desire. So ladies, get your man under lights or out in the sun, especially if you are looking for a nocturnal sexual encounter.
  • Is there any truth in the fact that red wine can boost the libido?
Answer. Yes, red wine can boost the libido, and it is the same for men and women. But if you over-indulge, it can have the opposite effect, especially in men. Alcohol abuse is the leading cause impotence and other sexual problems, so to keep your libido in top form, keep a firm hand on your alcohol intake.

These were some of the questions and answers that were posed in the survey, which researchers believe will help folk to understand more sexual issues in general.
